John Stewart

General Partner

Having spent over 25 years leading, owning, and managing real estate companies, John brings an extensive background in real estate development and construction to the Catalyst Builders team.


As an original partner the Northern California homebuilding company Premier Homes, John helped grew the company to become one of the most trusted and respected builders in the greater Sacramento area, specializing in energy efficiency and cutting edge designs and technology.  Premier Homes built and sold over 1,200 new homes, employed a staff of over 40, and was the recipient of the National Association of Home Builders’ Energy Value Housing Award.


John has an extensive background and industry specific knowledge and experience in the areas of property acquisition, entitlements, land development and residential and commercial construction.


As a small business owner, John has had the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and experience ranging from finance, accounting and human resources to sales/marketing and project management.   John is a California State licensed contractor.


John also manages the land acquisition, entitlements, and development activities for other developers in the greater Sacramento area.  One of his clients is Bayside Church, the largest church in Northern California with over 20,000 active members and multiple campuses around the Sacramento region.  One of John’s most high profile commercial projects has been the acquisition and development of the 60-acre Freedom Point retail center in Roseville, California.  The project is home to Top Golf’s first California location as well as Marriott and Hilton hotels, Living Spaces furniture store and restaurants, retail, and other commercial uses.


John grew up in the Bay Area of California (Santa Cruz) and studied Commercial Recreation and Business Management at San Jose State University, (1987-1990). John and his wife Heather have been married for 27 years and live in Granite Bay where they have been raising their 4 kids, Wil, Grace, Andrew and Paul. In his free time, John enjoys mountain biking and golf.




Doug Gray

Partner/Director of Operations

As the leader of a premier Foothills based construction company, Doug demonstrated a pattern of continuous growth in areas of responsibility, work-load and scope. The company successfully contracted in excess of $100 million since 2000, building custom homes, local churches, Class A office buildings, tire stores, coffee houses, fast food restaurants and manufacturing facilities. Doug’s thorough background of all residential and light commercial construction trades and his keen business sense allowed him to create one of the most diversified construction companies in Northern California.


He has lived in the Foothills since 1979, has been happily married for 27 years and has three sons. His interests include residential and commercial construction, architecture, golf and coaching his sons’ Little League teams for many years.

Sarah Hall

Partner/Director of Finance

With Catalyst Builders since 2017, Sarah provides financial structure and hands on interaction with the entire team. Sarah works closely with the project managers on a regular basis to financially track all the projects. She is responsible for forming and implementing financial policy and procedure and oversees the company’s accounting and contract administration department.


Sarah has worked in the construction industry for more than 20 years. She started in a jobsite trailer working for one of region’s most respected general contractors, Otto Construction. There she created a love for the industry and a basis for her career. After college, Sarah spent time with a CPA firm auditing construction companies and working on forensic auditing cases. Before Catalyst Builders she spent many years consulting for local and internationally based construction companies and developers. Most recently, Sarah managed close to a billion dollars worth of construction projects with Westfield, LLC, an international mall developer. Her experience with Westfield, LLC division refined her construction finance knowledge.


Outside of work, Sarah and her husband stay busy with their two daughters who are very active in school activities, volleyball, and dance. As a family they love outdoor sports and working out at the gym together. When Sarah has time to herself she will indulge in a day at the spa.



Kevin Hall

Project Director, Commercial Division

As project director, Kevin is responsible for the construction process from pre-construction services to closeout on all commercial projects. He works closely with the project team and serves as the point of contact for each of his clients. Kevin has a strong working relationship with the owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors resulting in successful construction projects and experiences.


Kevin has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years and has completed a variety of projects including restaurants, retail landlord work and tenant improvements, warehouses, Cal Trans, schools, and both private and public works projects. These projects range from a simple storefront replacement, to ground up construction, to an award winning co-working space in the Bay area for the top mall developer in the country.


Kevin and his wife have been married for 16 years and have two daughters who keep them very busy. Kevin enjoys playing sports, fishing, golfing and hanging out with the family.



Aaron Brown

Project Director, Residential Division

Aaron has over 30 years of experience in luxury home construction. Born and raised in Southern California, he started in the real estate industry at the age of 17 working for local high-end builders in land acquisition and entitlement. In his early 20’s Aaron entered the luxury home building industry as a superintendent, and shortly moved-on to become a project manager with Finton Associates; a premier estate builder in the Beverly Hills / Bel Air / Holmby Hills region. Aaron eventually owned and operated his own luxury homebuilding firm for 15 years before relocating to Northern California in 2015.


Aaron and his wife now live in Nevada City and have three children spread-out across the states in California, Tennessee and Maryland. They enjoy hiking with their two crazy dogs, floating on a nearby lake, and good conversation with friends over dinner and a great bottle of wine. Most of all they love traveling to spend time with their children and two grandchildren.



Corey Macintyre

Project Manager

Corey is a detail-oriented construction manager who comes to Catalyst with more than two decades of experience in the industry. A native of British Columbia, Corey began his career working on high-rise condominiums for Intergulf Development Group in downtown Vancouver. After moving to Sacramento in 1998, he spent a decade working in residential construction management, including three years as a Field Manager for Centex Homes and three years as a General Superintendent for John Laing Homes.


After obtaining his California general contractor’s license and completing the UC Davis Construction Management Certification Program, Corey branched out into other ares of construction, including contracting with the California Highway Patrol and Worker’s Compensation Board to oversee various projects on their properties, as well as managing residential remodels, commercial tenant improvement and property management improvement projects and providing maintenance and remodeling on bank-owned properties in the Greater Sacramento area. From 2016 to 2018, he served as the owner’s liaison during the construction of an $8 million single-family residence overlooking Folsom Lake.


Corey and his wife Kirsten can often be found on the lacrosse field, cheering on their daughter Kate (St. Francis High School, ’19) or son Alex (Jesuit High School, ’21). Corey also enjoys any outdoor activities and rebuilding classic cars.


Leonard Stewart

Field Operations Manager

Leonard brings over 23 years of field and project management experience, with an additional five years experience in hands on framing and finishing work.


His passion is to build in beautiful Lake Tahoe and it’s surrounding areas. He enjoys everything about the building process, from the complex and challenging designs to the interaction with everyone involved as well as the design process through the completion of the home and ultimately delivering the dream that was envisioned by the homeowner with everything that they wished for.


Leonard has lived in the Lake Tahoe area for 25+ years. The reward of building the most unbelievable homes imaginable is what brought him here. He used to vacation in Tahoe and and wondered what it would be like to enjoy that every day. He went back home after a vacation there in 1993, quit his career and moved there 3 months later to start his dream of building homes. This has been a career choice that he made that he has no regrets over as he truly enjoys what he does every day.
