Sarah Hall

Chief Executive Officer

With Catalyst Builders since 2017, Sarah provides financial structure and hands on interaction with the entire team. Sarah values her close communication with the team, to ensure company cohesiveness and a thriving environment. Her direct focus is on strategic growth and implementation. She and Doug Gray collectively lead Catalyst Builders and their top priority is to nurture and sustain a company all can be proud of.

Sarah has worked in the construction industry for more than 20 years. She started in a jobsite trailer working for one of region’s most respected general contractors. There she created a love for the industry and a basis for her career. After college, Sarah spent time with a CPA firm auditing construction companies and working on forensic auditing cases. Before Catalyst Builders she spent many years consulting for local and internationally based construction companies and developers.

Outside of work, Sarah and her husband stay busy with their two daughters who are very active in school activities, volleyball, and dance. As a family they love outdoor sports and working out at the gym together.

Doug Gray

Chief Operating Officer

As the leader of a premier Foothills based construction company, Doug demonstrated a pattern of continuous growth in areas of responsibility, work-load and scope. The company successfully completed building custom homes, multi-family homes, local churches, Class A office buildings, tire stores, coffee houses, fast food restaurants and manufacturing facilities. Doug’s thorough background of all residential, multi-family and light commercial construction trades and his keen business sense allowed him to create one of the most diversified construction companies in Northern California.

He has lived in the Foothills since 1979, has been happily married for 27 years and has three sons. His interests include residential and commercial construction, architecture, golf and coaching his sons’ Little League teams for many years.

Kevin Hall

Project Director, Commercial Division

As project director, Kevin is responsible for the construction process from pre-construction services to closeout on all commercial projects. He works closely with the project team and serves as the point of contact for each of his clients. Kevin has a strong working relationship with the owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors resulting in successful construction projects and experiences.

Kevin has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years and has completed a variety of projects including restaurants, retail landlord work and tenant improvements, warehouses, Cal Trans, schools, and both private and public works projects. These projects range from a simple storefront replacement, to ground up construction, to an award winning co-working space in the Bay area for the top mall developer in the country.

Kevin and his wife have been married for 16 years and have two daughters who keep them very busy. Kevin enjoys playing sports, fishing, golfing and hanging out with the family.

Corey Macintyre

Project Manager

Corey is a detail-oriented construction manager who comes to Catalyst with more than two decades of experience in the industry. A native of British Columbia, Corey began his career working on high-rise condominiums for Intergulf Development Group in downtown Vancouver. After moving to Sacramento in 1998, he spent a decade working in residential construction management, including three years as a Field Manager for Centex Homes and three years as a General Superintendent for John Laing Homes.

After obtaining his California general contractor’s license and completing the UC Davis Construction Management Certification Program, Corey branched out into other areas of construction, including contracting with the California Highway Patrol and Worker’s Compensation Board to oversee various projects on their properties, as well as managing residential remodels, commercial tenant improvement and property management improvement projects and providing maintenance and remodeling on bank-owned properties in the Greater Sacramento area. From 2016 to 2018, he served as the owner’s liaison during the construction of an $8 million single-family residence overlooking Folsom Lake.

Corey and his wife Kirsten can often be found on the lacrosse field, cheering on their daughter Kate (St. Francis High School, ’19) or son Alex (Jesuit High School, ’21). Corey also enjoys any outdoor activities and rebuilding classic cars.

Ken Porter

Superintendent

Ken’s experience and knowledge in the residential and commercial building industry began in San Jose area in 1986, starting in Commercial tilt ups, then to multi-family housing, eventually moving towards his passion of custom luxury homes. Licensed in CA since 2001, Ken owned and operated a Design & Engineering firm which also trained builders and engineers in the 11 Western States by providing leadership on value engineering and IAQ while incorporating sustainable building practices. He also holds 2 Patents for an engineering application used within a certain alternative building product for its use and methodology.

In the recent years, Banks, Medical TI’s, Military, Heavy Civil, and Hospitality projects-the most memorable project of late being the complete restoration/renovation of the Historic Holbrooke Hotel, located in Grass Valley, CA, which he was the Superintendent, truly a once in a lifetime project. Ken believes that teamwork, collaboration, and attention to detail are items that help create successfully projects and satisfied clients.

He and his wife of 26 years moved to Nevada City, CA in 1999 and raised two adopted children, and have 2 more kids in Uganda as well as 4 grandkids. They enjoy family time-snowmobiling, playing with their standard poodles, being outdoors, volunteering in the community and spending quality time with family and friends.

Eddie Guerrero

Superintendent

Eddie has been building custom homes in the Lake Tahoe area for over 16 years. He started at Catalyst Builders performing framing and has since moved into supervising ongoing projects in the Lake Tahoe area. Eddie is passionate about his work, making sure to listen to clients about their wants and needs.

As a hands-on supervisor, Eddie is known for his ability to get his hands dirty and work alongside our crews. One of the things that sets Eddie apart is his ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish. This skill proves invaluable when working on job sites with diverse crews.

Outside of work, Eddie is a devoted husband and father of 3. He enjoys softball and volunteering at his church.

Tom Allison

Special Projects Team

As a seasoned General Contractor since 1981, Tom Allison proudly joined Catalyst Builders as part of their building team in 2019.  As part of the Catalyst team, Tom works closely with owners, designers, sub-contractors, architects, and consultants to ensure high quality, streamline production, and facilitate open and effective communication.

His years of experience in both commercial and residential construction include:

  • A successful commercial construction company he launched, completing over 1M square feet of high-end tenant improvements. His areas of expertise and passion specifically targeted high-end complex remodels as well as the renovation and rebuilding of distressed or outdated projects.
  • His hands-on skills in the tile and masonry industry to start up a high-end granite fabrication shop using state of the art equipment to produce fine counter tops.
  • Working with an international developer to build luxury villas and beach front homes in Costa Rica—a $40M renovation.

Tom has lived in Placer County for 40 years and still happily married to his high-school sweetheart.  Together they have successfully raised their 4 children. He loves spending time with his family, leading a men’s workout group, hiking, and outdoor activities.

Jennifer Massa

Project Accountant

Jennifer Massa brings over 20 years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and office management to the Catalyst team. A professional in construction finances, she has an acute eye for details and figures.

Jennifer’s experience is founded on being a partner in a successful general contractor company. That partnership led her to manage multiple construction accounting jobs over the years. Working for Catalyst Builders is an opportunity to put all the experience she has gained in the construction industry into one office.

Jennifer has an appreciation for the great outdoors. She loves to travel and spend as much time as possible with her daughter and amazing grandbaby. An active volunteer, Jennifer has mentored women’s groups and troubled teens. She has been involved in programs to feed the homeless and invalid. She is also passionate about animal rescue and has fostered many animals.

Jenna Brunello

Office Manager

Jenna comes to Catalyst with 18 years of work experience with the last 10 years being in the construction industry. Working at a smaller building and remodeling company allowed her to fill several roles. Her breadth of experience spans from office management, contract manager, client liaison and project coordinator.

Jenna enjoys working behind the scenes to make a project come together and thrives while supporting a team. Catalyst provides the opportunity to use her people, organizational and administrative skills to help the team succeed.

Jenna lives in Rocklin with her husband of 24 years and their three daughters. She spent several years volunteering with Rocklin Girls Softball and cheering from the stands. Weekends are now filled with college visits, exercise, cooking, time with friends, and college football – War Eagle!
